Benahavis Village

Situated 7 kilometres inland from Guadalmina, with the River Guadalmina winding its own natural border beneath the Hill Village lies Benahavis, an ancient Moorish stronghold which has retained its small Andalucian Pueblo style & charm, despite the invasion of expatriates keen to live an authentic rural life within striking distance of the usual creature comforts: The Beach, supermarkets, Golf and so on.

The main attraction of the Benahavis village in undoubtedly its cuisine, with an estimated 30 plus restaurants & bars in the small village...mostly of superb standard & in comparison with Northern Europe very reasonably priced.

Highly recommended come Amanhavis Hotel's restaurant in Benahavis voted in Andalucia's top 10 by the Telegraph, the new Fogon de Aldea perched above La Bodega & the David Marshall Gallery, and old favourites like Los Abanicos, La Escalera & El Mirador with stunning views spanning Benahavis Gorge & Valley.

Less Traditional are Benahavis' only Chinese restaurant Big Panda, El Ambiente with its heady Indonesian ambience and made to order fresh Thai Green Curry, and The Galeria Bar serving Traditional fare on the weekends for those missing their Sunday Roasts.
